Zomato-owned Blinkit is gearing up to launch 30-minute deliveries for high-value items such as instant water heaters, jewelry, and air purifiers, according to media reports. Renowned for its 10-minute grocery delivery service, Blinkit is shifting gears to diversify its offerings and drive profitability by venturing into premium product categories.
As per media reports, to support this expansion, Blinkit is in the process of setting up larger express dark stores, ranging between 7,000 and 8,000 square feet, a significant upgrade from its existing 3,000 to 4,000 square foot stores. These spacious facilities will enable Blinkit to store and manage bulkier, high-value items, positioning the company to compete head-on with e-commerce giants like Amazon and Flipkart.
This bold move to establish larger dark stores is part of Blinkit's strategy to optimise its supply chain and cater to a wider range of consumer needs, as per media reports.
