Zepto Co-founder Shares Predictions For Quick Commerce In 2025

As the calendar turns to 2025, Aadit Palicha, Co-Founder and CEO of Zepto, reflects on the trajectory of quick commerce—a sector that has swiftly cemented its relevance in India’s dynamic e-commerce landscape. In a post brimming with optimism, Palicha forecasts a transformative year ahead for this burgeoning industry, marked by heightened scale, operational rigor, and evolving fundamentals.  

Palicha revisited a prediction he made last year, where he likened the potential of quick commerce to the transformative impact of Amazon and Flipkart. "In 2024, we saw the seeds of that vision begin to sprout. But 2025 will be the year when quick commerce will truly start scaling to levels comparable to mainstream ecommerce," he shared.  

Three Predictions for Quick Commerce in 2025

1. Scaling Comparable to Ecommerce: Palicha foresees 2025 as the year when quick commerce will reach significant scale, edging closer to the benchmarks set by e-commerce giants.  

2. The Demand for Operational Excellence: He acknowledges that success in this space demands more than innovation—it requires flawless execution. "Quick commerce isn’t for the faint-hearted. Every player will face the challenge of delivering exceptional execution, and not everyone will succeed," he remarked candidly.  

3. A Fundamental Transformation: From customer value propositions to unit economics, Palicha predicts a profound shift in how the sector operates. "The fundamentals of quick commerce will evolve dramatically. The customer experience will elevate rapidly, operating models will change, and the capital markets’ outlook—from private investments to public markets—will look very different from 2023 and 2024," he explained.  

Palicha is resolute in his belief that 2025 will mark a pivotal moment for the industry. "The bottom line is simple: if our execution is strong, 2025 will be another incredible year," he said, brimming with confidence.
