Startupworld: All About Mentorship

Mentorship has been important since entrepreneurship gained shape in human civilisation. The trick lies in finding the right set of people to guide you and take inspiration from, along with being open to learn from people one serves as a mentor to.

Recognising the importance of the same BW Businessworld organised a panel titled ‘Startupworld: All About Mentorship', as a part of ‘Women Entrepreneurship Summit and Awards'. The panel was moderated by Urvu Shrivastav, Editorial Lead BW CFO World, and saw the participation of  Mira Jhala, Operating Partner ScaleX Partners, Mayurakshi Das, Founder and CEO, Elxir AI, and Meghna Krishna Co-founder Multistream Tech.

Talking about the idea of mentorship, Jhala noted, “When someone is mentored, not only is the mentee benefiting, but so is the mentor.” It is a symbiotic relationship and boils down to accelerated growth for both the parties involved, be it in the professional or personal space. This holds true for startups and their founders, no matter how driven they are to start with. “It is not necessary that every decision taken by you is always right. In such a scenario you need someone who is going to be honest with you, and challenge you,” noted Krishna.
