Zomato has introduced an ‘order scheduling feature’ that allows users to schedule deliveries anywhere from two hours to two days in advance, according to media reports. This new functionality aims to give customers more control over their food delivery times.
This announcement comes shortly after Zomato raised its delivery fee for the fourth time this year, increasing it to Rs 10, also reported by media sources. The timing is significant, as it coincides with the festive season when demand for food delivery typically surges.
Zomato's primary competitor, Swiggy, already offers a similar service called ‘Swiggy Scheduled,’ which has been available since 2018, according to various reports. The introduction of Zomato’s new feature appears to be a strategic move to attract users who value convenience and planning in their meal orders.
