Foospot is a mobile app consumer tech started in January 2016 by Ekta Sengar, Rohan Seth and Vishal Singh (Alumni of Delhi College of Engineering and NSIT). The company aims to remove all the daily parking hassles of people by stratifying the parking sector.

Foospot reinvents your parking experience, lets you view the real-time availability of all the parking spots before heading to the destination, take smart decision or pre-book them and pay using mobile wallet.

Challenges Faced

The biggest challenge that we faced was or rather currently is, dealing with parking merchants.For each parking site to be brought under the radar beyond all the smartification cost that goes into the background there’s also a lot of hassle that we go through to negotiate with the vendor to help us implement the solution.Not only this, during our early days we struggled a hell lot to get the parking data of the complete city that we are currently boasting of!

We strive to provide the best of the combination of feature set and services. Alongside our USP lies in the mesh of smart parking that we are building on by ourselves to make this city a truly Smart City to live in.

Clients and Expansion

We are a B2C firm and people driving their personal automobiles within the city are our valued customers. It’s only through satisfactory service and publicity through any medium (social media, newspaper, word to mouth) that we aspire to reach to more and more parking to spread our mesh around.

Marketing Plan

App centric marketing: 

We are relying heavily on our app launch to boost our marketing. We have kept a low profile till we launch our android app in full force.

Digital marketing:

We have already started working on focused content around the parkings we ply in.

Social Media Marketing:

Our posts are usually generating good views and helping us gain visibility across customers of our segment. We will continue making this as our prime source of marketing in the coming days, till SEO really kicks in.

Offline marketing:

Various channels, primary are - Distribution of Service focused Pamphlets in parkings. Standees at key restaurants, joints, malls, t-shirts to parking merchants. Advertisement through our tickets, cricket matches, auto expo, college events etc. are few of the ways we are continuously working on.

Market Size and Opportunity

The parking sector market, it is huge and scalable market. Organized parking sector is a more than $40 million industry, while unorganized parking sector is a more than $300 million industry, and growing at a staggering combined annual growth rate of around 20%.

As per the Survey conducted by ASSOCHAM for HT Media, there are 8.9 million total vehicular population of Delhi. 1400 vehicles are added every day, and this excludes the vehicle registered in the neighboring states. There are only 57,000 authorized parking spaces for these 8.9 million registered vehicles in Delhi. The remaining vehicles are parked just about everywhere leading to traffic jams, congestion on roads and pollution.
