A World Free Of Stereotypes And Discrimination

Gender stereotypes and gender-based discrimination are omnipresent, and women in India are often deprived of basic rights they should otherwise be entitled. The Women Entrepreneur Summit and Awards 2022 hosted by BW Disrupt in association with BW Businessworld encapsulated the women in the nation who are leading by example from the grassroots to the boardrooms of India. The session found participation from Deepali Naair, Director of Digital Sales, India and ASIANZ Digital Sales Centre, Bangalore, IBM, Mugdha Pradhan, Founder and CEO of iThrive Healing and Beyond along with Namita Banka, Founder & MD. Banka Bioloop.

The panellists discussed the role of society, their partners, institutional impacts on the career graph of women, questions about reasons for taking sabbaticals or even striving for more in workplaces. Deepali Naair spoke about the education programs brought in by IBM's STEM in India impacting the academic and professional growth of girls. While speaking of how to break stereotype definitions of a women's progress, Namita Banka mentioned that we have to lead by example to break the preconceived notions of society on women. Mugdha Pradhan opined that to foster women entrepreneurship in the country, we have to incessantly support the growth of women entrepreneurs both at a community and government level.

All aspects of society, whether that is family, institutions, media or academics, have to unanimously agree on giving equal opportunities to women to break the gender bias and overrule impediments that obstruct the advancement of women leaders.
