How did the entrepreneurial bug bite you?
So far, I worked on video advertising space. It gives me better understanding about video technology. That makes me to start a startup on video / media space and most of my friends make short films and they really don’t know how to reach film festival events. That’s the place I started pitch in our startup shortfundly.
What were the challenges before you while setting up this startup?
We came from technology and engineering background. We face challenges in meeting exact short film filmmakers and film festival event organizers.
What are the challenges for startup companies setting up shop in India?
In my understanding, setting up physical shop startup should concentrate on legal issues and proper clearance from all departments.
How is your business model different from the existing ones?
We act as technology and data providing platform, help filmmakers to get connected professionally. We are not only providing short film media content. Additionally, we help filmmakers to reach film festival events in right time. These film festival events are very straight with their event schedule time. One more thing, we help film festival event organizers life easy in terms of automating their entire event run through online. Where as filmmakers will able to promote their films through shortfundly and they can raise crowdfunding through us. Nowadays, these are not available in one place. That’s our shortfundly business model differentiate from others.
Who are your clients? How do you look at expanding?
Film makers and film festival event organizers are our clients. We are planning to launch short film festival through our shortfundly brand and planning to reach them. We will organize the world’s short film media content information and make it universally accessible and useful.
The best and worst memories while setting up …
While talking to film makers they keep asking about, should I pay money to use your platform? we simply said, we act like Facebook platform. So, you no need to pay anything for sharing content and connecting with upcoming filmmakers. This question make them feel hesitate to start using our platform shortfundly.
One more thing, they have doubts on content rights. They ask about who’s going to take care of short film content rights either a creator or shortfundly. We simply answer them like, if you put your content in YouTube and simply publishing in our platform. So, you have all the rights to hold that content rights. Shortfundly won’t take content rights.
