DescriptionWe at White Panda want to simplify content creation for enterprises by removing the tedious process of screening writers, haggling for the right price and constantly needing to monitor the writer. Our platform ensures that only an eligible writer is given a job with the help of a two-step screening process that ensures. The writers, in turn, get access to a huge job feed and guaranteed payment with the freedom to work from anywhere
Our content services include writing content for short and long form blog posts, White Papers, Press Releases, Product Descriptions, Websites and Social Media. These services are targeted at almost every business with an online presence from sectors like E-commerce, healthcare, software development and many others.
Idea Generation We are a team of four IIT Gandhinagar undergraduates from different disciplines speaking different languages, united by an urge to work and contribute something to the nation. Roshan, our CEO, realized the growing need of quality content for almost every marketing, development and sales activity. It did not take him long to notice the appalling state of the content industry in India. Writers were lucky to even get paid in trinkets, every other guy with the ability to string a sentence together called himself a writer. A change had to be brought on.
Aditya, Ashim, and Bhaskar soon joined him and we formed our core team in June 2015. As the days pass, our numbers grow and we come closer and closer to achieving our mission; cleaning up the world of online content. We chose the name White Panda, simply because it’s catchy and sticks in your mind.
Growth OpportunitiesContent Marketing has just caught on in India and we are penetrating the market at an ideal time. With the boom in the startup ecosystem and more and more established companies now maintaining an active blog and regularly updating content on their social media accounts, influencers looking for content to engage their followers, the list is endless. Expansion into overseas markets is also a possibility, with content in European and American markets expensive, though better in quality. These businesses are already outsourcing a lot of their content needs to India and other southeast Asian countries. This is also a very lucrative market to grasp.
Market CompetitionThere are few crowd-sourcing platforms like Crowdspring and Freelancer.com that allow business owners to get in touch with freelancers. But all they do is connect the business owner to the freelancer.
There is no dedicated content marketplace in India that caters to Indian Businesses, providing them comprehensive content solutions. These include writing, proofreading, re-writing and reviewing the content.
In the future, we also aim to provide tools to help clients measure essential metrics on their content and develop publishing tools to further reduce their need to worry about their content needs.
Overseas firms like Newscred and Contently are well established and cater to leading brands in every industry. Their services are subscription based and rates are far greater than the services we offer.
Challenges FacedOur biggest hurdle was the fact that we are undergraduates. But we never used it as an excuse to justify any glitches or the speed with which we worked. During our development phase, until April 2016, we did not have a common workspace; we worked out of our individual hostel rooms, collaborating virtually. These factors did eventually contribute to our slow growth. But since the past two months, we have acquired office space from the administration of IIT Gandhinagar to set up operations.
Startup InitiativesWe run a White Panda Writing Internship program throughout the year that accepts talented college students and working professionals and provides them the tools to become a successful content writer and learn about content marketing. So far we have had almost 50 White Panda writing Interns.
We also run an ambassador program with students from every major college taking part and marketing White Panda on social media and in their respective communities. We have had over a 100 White Panda ambassadors
In the future, we plan to organize seminars and workshops on content writing and marketing in colleges in Gujarat and later expand to other states. We are committed to improving the quality of content writers at a grassroots level.
Funding Details And Future PlansWhite Panda is currently bootstrapped. We are in process of receiving a seed fund to develop our product and clock up respectable revenue figures to scale up our operations.
In 10 years we envision White Panda to rapidly scale up and acquire the content market in Asia for all languages and lock horns with other content providers in the US and Europe.
We also plan to shift from simply a platform to a growing buzzing community of writers, poets and bloggers around the world, publishing great content, educating people around the world about content marketing and writing.
