Women have been actively involved in the Indian startup ecosystem, having set up numerous prominent startups. They are setting up companies more than ever but still, a very low percentage of investor money goes to women-led startups.
"There is a massive cascading effect that gets unlocked when you have powerful role models. The reason that I have been seeing a massive gender gap in the capital is because of a lack of role models," says Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder and CEO, SUGAR.
"But this is dramatically going to change in the next 10 years and we will have a lot of women taking their companies public, we will have a lot of women unicorns and we will have a lot of well-run women startup," she adds.
